Born and raised in Pueblo County, Tommy is proud to call Pueblo home. He attended public schools in both District 60 and District 70, graduating from Rye High School before earning a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University Pueblo.
In 2020, Tommy and his father purchased the engineering firm where they had both worked, launching New Frontier Engineering—a small business grounded in Pueblo values and innovation. Today, he serves as Office Administrator to Pueblo County Commissioner Miles Lucero, supporting constituent services and working alongside the Commissioner to improve the lives of Pueblo County residents.
Tommy’s commitment to community runs deep. He has worked as an instructor with the El Pueblo History Museum’s Hands-on History program, teaching young people the practical skills essential to life in Pueblo’s early days. He also served as Chair of the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees.
Currently, Tommy serves on the boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County, the Southern Colorado Equality Alliance, and the D60 Education Foundation, where he champions inclusive, equitable policies. His leadership and service have been recognized with several honors, including the Southern Colorado Equality Alliance’s Person of the Year, Colorado State University Pueblo’s Distinguished Young Alumni Award, and the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Pueblo’s 40 Under 40 Emerging Leader Award.
For Tommy, the best part of Pueblo is its people. Even as the city grows, it retains a small-town sense of community and a deep connection to its history—qualities that continue to inspire his work every day.
